After having a marriage that falls apart Patch moves to Arizona and has difficulty leaving his former life behind. Shortly after his move, a fight occurs between the Gun Runners, Soul Sacrifice, the 2Wheelers and the Infidelz, leaving dead, Marco, one of the Infidelz Motorcycle Club members. The new president of the Oakland Chapter, Ahab, turns to Kinkade and asks him to look into the matter; Patch is duty-bound to take action. The request rips Patch from his desired quiet life in the Arizona desert and forces his return to California, where he faces deceit, treachery, and traitorous FBI agents. In Dead in 5 Heartbeats, the heroes are bad guys, and the real bad guys are even worse. Even the police are corrupt. Barger’s inside knowledge of the biker world gives to his readers a no holds barred novel filled with the excitement and pain of the life of a biker.
